Letter of intent regarding tire raw material for GreenTech Recycling Tires AB’s tire recycling.
GreenTech Recycling and Svensk Däckåtervinning have signed a letter of intent, with the ambition to sign a long-term agreement on deliveries of end-of-life tires for recycling into pyrolysis oil, carbon black and into steel.
GreenTech Recycling plans for a production of 20,000 tons per year, in the first factory that the company builds in Sweden. The letter of intent lays the foundation for the continued work with the establishment of the company.
– At GreenTech Recycling Tires AB, we are very happy about this first step with Svensk Däckåtervinning, which will become a strategic partner for recycling end-of-life tires from cars and trucks and completely recycling them for use as input in the production of new tires, plastic and steel products in instead of incineration, says Per-Olov Lindgren, chairman of the board of GreenTech Recycling Tires AB.
– This is an important part of the value chain for us, because today we already have both a verified technology for recycling tires and long-term agreements for the sale of the produced products when our facility is in place, continues Lindgren.
– For Svensk Däckåtervinning, this is a step in changing the traditional recycling of tires, which mainly took place via energy recovery to circular flows and applications, where carbon black from pyrolysis is an area with great potential, says Fredrik Ardefors, CEO of Swedish Tire Recycling.
